ive people are on board a submersible missing near the Titanic wreck, including father and son Shahzada and Suleman Dawood.

They’re joined on OceanGate’s submersible by Stockton Rush, Hamish Harding, and Paul-Henri Nargeolet.

The submersible went missing on Sunday while diving to the Titanic. It lost contact with the ship nearly two hours after beginning its descent.

A search operation is underway, but rescuers are racing against the clock as the submersible only has an estimated 96-hour supply of oxygen on board.

Shahzada Dawood, 48, is a British businessman and a member of one of Pakistan’s richest families. He reportedly lives in Surrey with his family.

He is the vice-chairman of Engro Corporation, which is a fertiliser firm based in Karachi.

The businessman is married to his wife Christine, and together they have two children: Suleman and Alina. Suleman is aboard the submersible with his father.

Mr Dawoood supports two charities founded by King Charles, the British Asian Trust and the Prince’s Trust International. The King has reportedly asked for updates on the submersible situation.

A family statement said his interests include “photography, especially wildlife photography, and exploring different natural habitats.”

His son, Suleman, is a 19-year-old student. It was confirmed on Thursday that he is a student at Strathclyde University in Glasgow.

He has been described by his family as being a "big fan of science fiction literature and learning new things", and is interested in Rubik’s cubes and playing volleyball, as reported by the BBC.

A statement from the Dawood family said: "As of now, contact has been lost with their submersible craft and there is limited information available.

"We are very grateful for the concern being shown by our colleagues and friends and would like to request everyone to pray for their safety while granting the family privacy at this time.

"The family is well looked after and are praying to Allah for the safe return of their family members."
